new years eve.

while i watch the kimchi western "the good, the bad, and the weird," i decided to write some things down for the close of 2008.

lots of things happened this good year. i finally finished high school and graduated in june of 2008. and the following weekend i went on a one month and a week trip to korea and japan to visit the fam. after the trip i went to spop 9/orientation for my school of choice UCI. that was the beginning of my college life.

i met some really great people at orientation and then fastfoward to september. i moved into snowbourn(beezy) in middle earth and so began my college career. i can't believe that in only three months i have become so close with these people. i think living in the dorms was one of the best decisions that i have ever made. i had my doubts because i have no experience living with other people (no siblings), but it's been one of the best experiences of my life. i've sincerely met some of the greatest, most genuine people ever. i could honestly say that i'm probably going to grow old with these people as life long friends. i had some bad experiences with the fam regarding my major change. but i believe that even through all of this doubt and bad relations, my decision was made for the right reasons. and i have no doubt in my mind that things will turn out for the best. i am eternally grateful for being able to attend UCI for it has given me the opportunity to meet incredible people and decide on actions that will impact the rest of my life.

as always i am always eternally grateful to the fam. especially to my parents. even though we went through a rough patch, i hope you guys know that although you may not agree now, this is what i truly want to do. and i'm going to try my damnest to make you guys proud. to my other relatives thank you for continually supporting me. i means a lot that you guys made it out to my graduation and continue to have interest in my education. to my cousins adrienne and sarah unni, thank you for making my senior year wonderful and the beginning of my college career enjoyable. i can tell you guys everything and you guys always know what to say when i'm feeling down.

to my existing friends from high school. i love you guys with all of my heart. even though we're currently spread out across the country (literally) i can't imagine life without you guys. even though it's hard to meet up, know that i'm always thankful to have people like you guys by my side.

to all those reading, however few it may be. i truly wish that your 2008 was amazing and hope that 2009 has many more fabulous things in store.

winter break update.

so we left to yoo-taw on the 20th. came back the 25th. went with auntie, uncle, matt, addy, and matt's friend david and of course. my immediate fam. it was frackin' cold. like unbelivably cold. haha. 18 degrees and below FTW.

my mom forgot my snow boots so i was stuck wearing my new minnetonkas that are not built for snow or rain. hahaha. oh well. they survived. the feathers are jacked up but whatevs.

didn't go snowboarding. although they did try to convince me. hahaha. christmas was kinda just whatever. we left utah that day. and oh yeah. we have this family curse. where it always snows the last day when we are about to leave. ALWAYS. frackin' wonderful. and then like while we were on i-15 for like 6+ hours it was freakin' windy to boot.

there was a SEMI THAT WAS FLIPPED ON ITS SIDE! dang. not what we wanted to see. but then again. i did sleep for like...5 hours. haha. we stopped north of the las vegas strip aka the shady ass part of LV and ate linner.

visited the new building we bought in victorville. (it has a tattoo parlor. suh-weeeeeet.) arrived in la palma and ate dinner. yum yum.

and then the past two days i've been home i've been just vegetating. tomorrow i must go shopping for secret santa with the BESTIES<3 and then start on everyone else's presents. you know how i do. :]

can't help but miss my baybees back at school. :[ it's weird seeing everyone every frackin' hour of every frackin' day for three months and then BOOM.

no one.

hahaha. can't wait to get back. must pre-order books for winter quarter!!

meditations on finals week&college so far.

hm. third post in a day. that can't be healthy.

but then again. you have to account for me packing for the trip of death to utah.

alas. winter quarter has snuck up behind me, grabbed my hair, and yanked a few strands out.

it only seems like two weeks ago when my last final was done.

well. it was.

so here are some conclusions.

  • no matter how hardcore you think high school finals are, college finals will PWN your ass.
  • everything is open 24 hours including starbucks on campus. THANK YOU.
  • 24 hour quiet hours are also enforced.
  • study groups are bomb.
  • no matter how much you cram for bio, you're still effed.
  • there is no definite way to study for humanities core. NONE.
  • walking to starbucks at 2 in the morning with suitemate = LOVE
  • tea time with the future roomies are a must, even if it was in spirit.
  • spiral bound notebooks for recopying lecture notes FTW.
  • parents call less often because they think you're studying. i was actually napping thank you very much.
  • my day: 11:00AM get up; 11:45AM go eat breakfast; 12:00PM-5:00PM frolick/run errands/study sessions; 5:00PM-4:00 AM study and then sleep
  • the only good thing i liked about the bio department was that scantrons are provided!!
  • stop staring at the book. knowledge doesn't work through osmosis.
  • finals late nights at pippins are LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. the two nights i went amassed in: chili dogs + a cup of cappuccino + a cup of coffee = a MASSIVE CRAMP; build your own nachos!!
  • in quiet ass irvine..hella people walking around at 4 in the damn morning
  • you're always going to want to cut the bitches that set the curve. always.
  • if you're lucky to have both your finals all in the same day, your ass is HOME SWEET HOME the next day.

adieu finals. i hope we never meet again.

can you hear me?

currently listening to can you hear me? part 2 sung by jang geun suk.

crazy ass people at my house at 2 in the DAMN morning.
oh drunk korean people are just loads of fun.

oh btw. i'm realistically supposed to be up in about two hours. on the freaking way to utah. for eight FUCKING hours.

so. my to do list for utah trip:

  • spend quality time with the fam
  • play mad gab and PWN
  • get christmas gifts done
  • video blog
  • take tons of pictures

2.8 GPA

i'm not proud of the 2.8 but it brings me thismuch closer to changing majors. the minimum was 2.7 to change into the school of social sciences. but hey. first quarter of freshman year. i just have to do better next quarter. 16 units FTW!!

p.s. NO ACADEMIC PROBATION. YAAAAAAAAAY.

not a good day.

first. i'm sick.

second. i get my bio final grade and i thought it was out of 80 so i was like WHOOPEE. a c isn't bad.

only to find out that it was out of 100.

SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTERS.

so either i'm not going to pass. or i'm going to pass by a frackin' miracle.

at least i'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. and potentially a new phone.

sigh.

finals week.

hm. so. everyone at uci looks like zombies. oh. how i love that everything is open twenty-four hours this whole week.

yesterday was pretty fun. said we'd wake up at 8 but woke up at 9.
ate breakfast with jess-el, julia, and alexandra.
ate an omelet that took forever to make. (prejudiced against vegetarians!!)
went on our adventure to turn in applications for VDC (vista del campo).
  1. finding out that no shuttles run on saturday
  2. going around the whole campus in the direction of the arc
  3. jumped a partition thing and a brick wall
however. getting there. oh jeez. the lobby was gorgeous. looks just like a resort.
studying.
studying.
larc review session 6-8
then boning out.
read all of the bluest eye and half of descartes meditations on first philosophy.
went to sleep

woke up at nine today. went to go eat breakfast. had a waffle fiasco. (alexandra lol.)
went to the humcore review session at the science library from one to four.
came back.
did nothing.
then took an hour and a half nap.
woke up and did last year's final that kramer posted.
got my ass whooped by said final.
watched the end of devil wears prada with my bay area hoes.

told my parents what i wanted for christmas. it's like the third year now that they just tell me to tell them what i want. i suppose it's a good thing. no money wasted on gifts that i won't use. :/

this year's gift.

a tufi duek chainlink purse from bluefly. i debated between the caramel color and the navy color. but felt that the navy went better with the gold hardware. reminds me of the marc jacobs stam. without the insane price tag. got this for a fairly good price.

have a feeling it just might become a staple for me. i like that it's simple. yet refined. one of those every day purses that will go with anything and everything. from the zoomed out picture, it just may be the leather type that i don't like. but we shall see.

tee hee.

oh. and btw. imma make new years resolutions now. because i'm cool like that. :]

  • lose fifteen pounds; you know those skinny bitches you always see, i want to be one of them. lol.
  • study like the nerd that i am; psychology major education minor FTW <3
  • wear more makeup; i need to put my babies to good use
  • find a way to have pretty nails without sacrificing comfortable piano playing; vice versa
  • put a little more effort into every day dressing; no to hoodies and jeans everyday
  • get a dang job; support the kids aka the habit aka my insane purse addiction
  • look above; save up to help parentals with rent for VDC
things to look forward to this coming week.

  • scholarship thing on tuesday; i'm saving this shit for a plane ticket to korea junior year. STUDY ABROAD BAY-BE.
  • 1:30-3:30 bio final; sink or swim baby, sink or swim. wednesay
  • 4-6 humanities core final; wow, a 30 minute gap. lucky me wednesday
  • home free on thursday
